Tuivasa began his professional fighting career in 2012, competing in regional promotions in Australia. He quickly gained a reputation as a knockout artist, winning his first six fights via TKO or KO. In 2016, he was signed by the UFC and made his debut at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Brunson in Melbourne, Australia.
In his debut, Tuivasa knocked out Rashad Coulter in the first round, earning Performance of the Night honors.
