Career
During his college career, Simpson won six tournaments, was a three-time All-American, and helped lead Wake Forest to the 2005 NCAA Championship. He also won the prestigious U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2008, which earned him an invitation to the 2009 Masters Tournament.
Simpson turned professional in 2008 and played on the Nationwide Tour, now known as the Korn Ferry Tour. He earned his PGA Tour card for the 2009 season and had his breakthrough year in 2011, when he won twice on the PGA Tour, including the prestigious Wyndham Championship in his home state of North Carolina.
